A Whole House Retreat Venue in Scotland – Now Available All Year Round

If you’re looking for a retreat venue in Scotland where your group can have the entire place to themselves, Lochwood House is now available for whole house retreats throughout the year.

Set on the shores of Loch Goil in Argyll, Lochwood House is designed for small, personal retreats where everyone stays, eats and spends time together in one place.

With seven bedrooms, dedicated spaces for yoga and group sessions, our woodland dining and meeting cabin, and the Wild Spa overlooking the loch, you can create your retreat around your own programme and your own guests.

Exclusive use for your retreat

When you book Lochwood House for a retreat, the house and grounds are exclusively yours.

There are seven bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests, with six en-suite bedrooms and one bedroom with its own private bathroom. Four rooms can also be arranged as twins, giving you flexibility when planning your group.

The main house has a large kitchen, dining room and living room, giving everyone plenty of space to come together between sessions.

There are no other guests to work around, so you can set the pace and timetable that works for your retreat.

Spaces to run your retreat

Retreat hosts have a choice of spaces across the property.

Our dedicated yoga cabin works well for yoga, Pilates, meditation, breathwork and smaller group sessions, while the 7m geodesic dome provides another striking space surrounded by woodland.

The Perch, our woodland cabin, gives you a separate space for shared meals, workshops and group sessions away from the main house.

And, of course, there is the outdoors.

Lochwood House sits directly on the shore of Loch Goil, with woodland behind the house and the loch in front. Retreats can include wild swimming, walks, time around the fire pit or simply some space outdoors between organised sessions.

Add the Wild Spa to your retreat

Our lochside Wild Spa can also be incorporated into your stay.

The spa includes a sauna, wood-fired hot tub and cold plunge, creating an easy addition to yoga, wellness and wellbeing retreats without your group having to leave the property.

Private Wild Spa sessions can be arranged around your retreat timetable.

Bring your own programme

We don't run your retreat for you.

Instead, Lochwood House provides the venue, accommodation and spaces for you to create the retreat you want to deliver.

You're welcome to bring your own instructors, therapists and chefs, or we can recommend local people who can help with elements of your stay.

We can also help arrange activities including yoga, sound baths, guided wild swimming and hiking.

This makes Lochwood House suitable for everything from yoga and wellness retreats to creative workshops, coaching retreats and small group escapes.

Retreats in every season

Loch Goil changes dramatically throughout the year, and retreats don't have to be limited to spring and summer.

Autumn brings quieter lochside walks and evenings around the fire. Winter lends itself to cosy indoor sessions, sauna and cold-water dips. Spring brings longer days and the woodland back to life, while summer gives you more time outdoors and on the water.

For retreat hosts, that means the opportunity to build a programme around the season rather than being restricted to a short summer calendar.

A retreat venue within reach of Glasgow

Despite the secluded setting, Lochwood House is around 90 minutes from Glasgow, making it accessible for both Scottish retreat hosts and guests travelling from further afield.

Once your guests arrive, everything is on site. Accommodation, retreat spaces, the Wild Spa, woodland and loch are all within a few minutes' walk of their bedroom.
